Dinner in New Orleans with Denis Reggie and David Beckstead
While I was in New Orleans for the Seven Workshop with Mike Colon I ran into Denis Reggie an industry icon and great friend. Denis has such insight into the wedding industry and it is always refreshing to hear his thoughts on what brides and grooms are looking for.
I got to know Denis by going to his first ever one to one private mentoring session. In three days he opened his studio to me and helped me fine tune my true style and my own personal niche in the wedding photography market. I have always believed in seeking the best you can find as advisors and mentors in life and not only in my opinion but according to many others he is “the finest photographer of his generation” (Photo District News) and I hope to learn from him so I can fill that area for my generation.

The Seven Workshop with Mike Colon
Daisy Moffatt and I went to New Orleans for the Seven workshop with Mike Colon. It was a day full of fun photo learning experiences. We networked with some great photographers as well as had a on location shoot with some beautiful models. Images soon to follow. But here is a shot from dinner.
Relationships and Photography
During a wedding day with a couple I observe so many interactions between guests, family and the couple. Recently we shot Andrea West’s wedding at The American Village and I couldn’t help but notice the bond between sisters. Andrea and he sister had such a connection and I think you can see a bit of what I mean by these images.
During the day Andrea’s sister was so dedicated to making sure she had the perfect experience as well as looked great. She was constantly by her side even in the cold as we walked around the grounds of the American Village to look for the right spot for portraits.
At the end of the day I left thinking…wow I wish I had a sister dedicated to the details of my wedding like that.
Sneak Peak Kim and Dave's wedding images
Kim and Dave were married on October 3rd at Ross Bridge Resort. The weather couldn’t have been better that Saturday so we had an opportunity to create amazing images outdoors for both the ceremony and cocktail hour as well as pre-ceremony photos. Alene Gamel of I Do I Do planned this awesome wedding and the staff at Ross Bridge was great to work with as always.
Kim and Dave thanks for being such a great couple to work with! The day went off seamlessly. More images will post on Saturday at Arden Clients so be sure to check them out.
