Emily & Joey: Arden Photography

I remember the first time I met Emily and Joey.  I immediately began to think about how tall and gorgeous their kids are going to be! This is probably one of the sweetest and most beautiful couples that I've ever met!  Their wedding seemed to get here overnight!  It seemed like yesterday when we photographed their engagement portraits and now their officially married!  We absolutely love all of our brides and Emily is no exception!  She was the picture perfect bride and the entire wedding party couldn't have been more fun! Thanks to the team at M. Elizabeth Events, we had a fantastic day!  Emily and Joey's Windwood wedding was the party of the decade!  The weather was amazing, the guests were awesome and our couple of the day stole the show!  All eyes were on this gorgeous pair as they danced the night away!  Congratulations to Joey and Emily!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

Vendor of the Week: Mariee Ami

Amazing vendors make amazing weddings!  I'm pretty sure most of you have seen the movie "The Wedding Planner".  It's based on a fictitious character who lives and breathes weddings!   It seems to be the real life autobiography of the ladies of Mariee Ami.  We were fortunate to have two back to back weddings with them and it's always a pleasure to be in  the presence of industry greatness.  Every little minor hiccup that seems to be a disaster in waiting is always demolished at the surface when these ladies are around.  Professional perfectionists is a nickname I've given these ladies over the years.  With every singly wedding, that phrase never seems to lose it's authenticity!  This is one of the many reasons this team is our vendor of the week.  So, cheers to an awesome start to this year's wedding season and it's always a pleasure to work with the dream team of Mariee Ami!

Happy Anniversary Jenna & Andrew Arden Photography

It's amazing how fast the years are flying by!  It seems like yesterday when we photographed Jenna and Andrew's beautiful Windwood wedding.  I can't believe it's already been two years!   Arden Photography and Windwood Weddings would like to take this time to wish a very Happy Anniversary to Jenna and Andrew!  Your wedding will always be one of my favorites!  I knew when I photographed your bridal portraits that your wedding would be awesome and it did not disappoint!  We wish you so many more years of happiness and before you know it, we'll be blogging about your 50th anniversary!  Cheers to the two of you and thank you for choosing us to share your wedding day with you!

Mo's Photo of the Week! Arden Photography

I absolutely love this photo from Caroline and Bobby's Windwood wedding!  It's so sweet and simply stunning.  Sometimes, I'm fortunate to be a second shooter with Arden and these are the moments that honestly take my breath away.  They're the photos that brides and grooms don't necessarily see take place, but they always seem to be the wow factors of the day.  This is such an amazing photo for an amazing couple.  The entire day was filled with moments like this. We were so excited to share this special time with you.  Congratulations Caroline and Bobby!

Mo's Photo of the Week: Arden Photography

Well if this isn't an entrance, I don't know what is! Most brides choose to walk the path from the barn to the ceremony site, but not Caroline!  She wanted to arrive in style and that's exactly what she did by cruising with her dad in a vintage Camaro.  All eyes were definitely on sweet, sweet Caroline when she stepped out of this hotrod and into everyone's hearts!  The Camaro has been fully restored an although flawless, no one near as flawless as our bride.  Congratulations to Caroline and Hayden!  I'm free this weekend if the two of you would like to pick me up for a ride on the town! Make sure you let the top down!

Man Crush Monday: Arden Photography

Today, we decided we'd add a little brightness to our Monday by looking back at a few of the grooms we've had this year for a man crush Monday. With the focus usually on the bride, it was time our groom's had some time in the spotlight. Their personalities make their bride's and everyone else smile! With patience and a helping hand, they always make sure the day goes smoothly. Thanks for a Monday boost guys!

Erin & Zack: Arden Photography

On a gorgeous Summer's day, Erin and Zack exchanged "I do's" at Windwood Equestrian in Pelham, Alabama. This sweet couple had an exciting day to remember that mirrored their personalities.  Their picture-perfect day was filled with fun props, colors, and a bridal party to match. Not to mention, Erin's stunning gown took everyone's breath away-not just Zack's! They danced the night away with food, friends, and family, and finished the night off with an Alabama themed groom's cake and shaker exit. Congratulations Erin and Zack! Thank you so much for sharing your day with us!

Morgan & Patrick: Arden Photography

It's not very often that we have the opportunity to photograph a wedding where we get to see our really good friends!  I was so excited to spend the day with my friends from The Sonnet House and to shoot another amazing wedding there! Morgan and Patrick are probably one of the sweetest couples I've ever met.  They wrote love letters to each other and decided to read them under the oak tree, which is one of my favorite places on the property.  Morgan was absolutely beautiful in lace and pearls as she walked down the aisle to exchange vows with Patrick.  After the ceremony, the couple cut into the an awesome cake that page homage to both Notre Dame and Alabama.  I was  so thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful day and I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Friday afternoon! Congratulations Morgan and Patrick!

Megan & Dan: Arden Photography

Megan and Dan were married on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Sonnet House.  Sunflowers and variations of yellow hues brightened the day even more.  One thing was for certain; I'm pretty sure there was a shortage of musicians in the area because they all happened to be in the bridal party!  The couple's dog, Peanut served as the ring bearer but had a small sense of stage fright when it came to walking down the aisle. After a beautiful ceremony under the oak tree, the couple showed off their skills with an amazing choreographed first dance.  The guests were ultimately surprised to see that Dan had chosen a southern signature rack of ribs as his grooms cake!  After the wedding traditions of cutting the cake and first dances, it was time to party and really celebrate this wonderful day!  Congratulations Megan and Dan!

Meghan & Kevin: Arden Photography

Meghan and Kevin were married at Bridgestreet Gallery and Loft where Christopher Confero and Hothouse Designs created a world of Southern charm blended with attributes of the Louisiana bayou.  From the King's cake to the state's signature Mardi Gras beads, this colorful event was filled with surprises. Meghan and Kevin both share a love for music but it was quite unexpected when the bride serenaded the guests with a few songs, including a Whitney Houston classic.  Guests dined on a wonderful meal provided by Kathy G & Company.  During the reception, guests also had the opportunity to display their vocals during a karaoke showdown.   What an awesome and fun-filled day with the Duthus!  Congratulations Kevin and Meghan!

Candace & Johnathan: Arden Photography

Welcome to the world of "Confero"!  Once again Christopher Confero has invited us on a magical journey of beauty and elegance.  I met with Candace and Johnathan last year and they shared their vision of this extraordinary day with me.  Everything from the custom bow-ties to Candace's cathedral length, lace veil was sheer perfection.  The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Workplay.  After the couple "jumped the broom", they danced their way into the reception where they were introduced as husband and wife for the first time.  After an amazing meal, provided by Kathy G & Company, Candace & Johnathan posed for portraits by the cake; which was made by Candace's mother.  Congratulations Candace & Johnathan!  May the rest of your lives be as magical as your wedding day!

Sarah & Jeremy Engagement: Arden Photography

I drive past Jemison Park everyday on my way to and from work.  It's one of those places that you notice but you never really have time to stop and enjoy it.  Sometimes, a nice stroll in the park is exactly what we need as a refresher for the week to come.  It makes it even more enjoyable when you have the company of two amazing people.  Sarah and Jeremy spent their afternoon with me among the rustling trees and flowing water of Jemison Park.   It was a picture perfect day and I couldn't have asked for anyone better to spend it.  Sarah and Jeremy will be married this July and we're so excited that we were chosen to share this special day with them.  Congratulations Sarah and Jeremy!  May your days ahead be as wonderful and spontaneous as a walk in the park on a Winter afternoon!

Sandy & Keith: Arden Photography

I haven't been to Tannehill State Park since I was a child. Driving through those gates brought back so many memories of school field trips and Friday camp nights.  It's such a family oriented place that encourages you to take a look back at some of the most amazing history that lies within our state.  Tannehill was the perfect backdrop for Sandy and Keith's wedding.  The entire day seemed to be built around the theme of family, friends and good home cooking.  The intimate ceremony took place at one of the historical chapels and the couple decided to write their own vows to each other.  I must say- there wasn't a dry eye in the house; not even Keith's!  The reception followed in Hoover, Alabama where Keith continued the trend of this emotional day with a serenade to his sweet bride.  We absolutely loved this wedding and we couldn't wait to share a few of our favorite moments! Congratulations Sandy and Keith!  May your lives be filled with joy and tears of happiness!

Adrienne & William Engagement: Arden Photography

The city of Birmingham has often been described as a diamond in the rough.  From it's historical landmarks, amazing restaurants and southern hospitality; it's one of those places that will never rid itself of the charm and appeal that keeps people coming back.  I love it when our couples use the city as a backdrop for their engagement photos.  Adrienne and William will be married this summer and we were so excited to spend the afternoon with them on Morris Avenue.  This street, aligned with it's brick roads, is a favorite of visitors and residents of the city.  We had such an amazing day with Adrienne and William and we couldn't be more pleased with their photos.  Here are a few of our favorites!

A Look Back at 2014: Arden Photography

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

2014 was a big, big year for Arden Photography; so many exciting things, beautiful weddings, the Equus collection. It was filled over with such gorgeous imagery, smiling couples, close friends, and new chapters that we are beyond excited for the new beginnings in 2015. We are so very lucky to have such a wonderful and embracing community and many friendships. We hope you are as ecstatic about 2015 as we are! We cannot wait to take you along for the ride next to us, and to allow us to capture all of your beautiful memories and stories for 2015! In the meantime, here is a look-back at a few of our personal favorite images from 2014.

Brooke & James: Arden Photography

Brooke and James said "I do" beneath blue skies in early June. They wed on the porch of the Sonnet House, with classic charm abound. Daisies decorated the table tops in mason jars - a perfect Southern touch; while pearls, lace, and sprigs of baby's breath decorated the bride. Soon after the ceremony, the wedding dances began. The bridesmaids kicked off their shoes and everyone threw their arms in the air! Laughter, love, and fun filled the night  - we could not help but be infected ourselves. They made their exit in a white limousine flanked by their friends and family wishing them all the happiness in the world!
