Gadsden Museum of Art has chosen Arden Ward Upton as the 2014 Artist of the Year. Her Equus collection will debut December 7, 2014 and will hang in the museum until January 20, 2015. In the gallery collection will be a few new editions to her ever-growing Equus fine art including the release of the Italy "Snow Polo" images. Please be sure to click the link to visit the Gadsden Museum of Art website for any additional information. The grand opening of the Equus gallery will be Dec. 7, 2014 from 2-4pm.

I have been working on a new website for sometime and it is now in it’s final stages. I cannot wait to launch the new site but until then I thought I would put a little teaser out there for everyone to get excited about. I love the fresh clean lines. I think 2014 is going to be a great year, it the year of the horse after all.
Martie a good friend of mine came over today to do her screen test video. I am so excited by the outcome. She is a natural and I cannot wait to see her show on TV!

During the presidential elections we received an amazing phone call from the Democratic party to photograph Barack Obama while he was in Birmingham. At the time we took these shots it was so exciting but now that he is our nation’s 44TH president and we had the opportunity to photograph him on his way to the White House it seems surreal. It is funny how when you are in the middle of history in the making it can just go so fast. I am glad to have a time to reflect on the personal experience I had with photographing President Obama. We are still reviewing 2008 and it was an amazing year! But can you imagine what a fun year 2009 will be ? So many brides are planning their big day. While I was at Barnes & Noble tonight I sat and watched bride be after bride to be going to the newsstand and literially picking up every wedding magazine on the stand. Currently we have several magazines on the stand with our images in them. This is so exciting. Please check out Alabama Weddings Magazine we shot the cover.

The girls from Bliss Event Group have started a magazine called Southern Wedding Style Magazine and we shot the cover image. Jane our beautiful bride pictured on the cover was also featured in the real wedding section as well. The premiere was April 1st but certainly no fools. I will follow this post with images from the premiere as well.
The magazine is absolutely beautiful and a must have if you are planning a southern wedding. It is full of images, inspiration and great ideas. Go Bliss Girls!!!

We had a beautiful write up in Destination I DO magazine for Lauren and Elliot’s wedding which was last year in Rosemary Beach. I always love to photograph destination weddings and we do a lot of weddings outside of Birmingham. The reasons we love Destination Weddings:

Jennifer and the staff at Destination I DO did a fabulous job of presenting the images and the love story of Lauren & Elliot in the spread. I am so sure you will love seeing this as well. It is such an honor every time we are included in a publication. When we receive magazines with our images or articles in them it is better than Christmas you should see the smiles on our faces.

Over the last little bit we have gotten to know Keith at Southern Dream Weddings Magazine He has been a huge asset to our business in getting buzz around town. Check out this cover we shot. Also we had several Real Wedding editorials in the issue. I will post those on the blog when the magazine is off the news stand but until then go out and get the whole thing, while you still can find it. If you are planning a wedding it is totally worth purchasing.
A new magazine called Southern Wedding Style Magazine will debut soon and guess who’s images will be in the issue, your’s truly Arden Photography. I can’t believe that we will not only have featured wedding space but also the cover. One of our Beautiful Bride’s will be so excited.
