My favorite thing about Jamie when I first met her to talk about her wedding day was her confident, girly style. I loved that she wanted to incorporate that all throughout her details from her color palette and even to her bridesmaids' dresses! When everything came together on the wedding day, everything could not have looked more perfect! The couple was so photogenic, they were the picture perfect bride and groom!

What an amazing year! As we look back at 2015, our timeline is filled with memories of our wonderful brides and their weddings! What an exciting 12 months and we couldn't help but share some of our favorites moments that Arden Photography has captured. I'm not sure how we will top this in 2016 but we're looking forward to another spectacular journey with our awesome brides, families, vendors and supporters. I absolutely love this photo from Caroline and Bobby's Windwood wedding! It's so sweet and simply stunning. Well if this isn't an entrance, I don't know what is! Most brides choose to walk the path from the barn to the ceremony site, but not Caroline! She wanted to arrive in style and that's exactly what she did by cruising with her dad in a vintage Camaro. All eyes were definitely on sweet, sweet Caroline when she stepped out of this hotrod and into everyone's hearts! The Camaro has been fully restored an although flawless, no one near as flawless as our bride. Congratulations to Caroline and Hayden! I'm free this weekend if the two of you would like to pick me up for a ride on the town! Make sure you let the top down!
On a gorgeous Summer's day, Erin and Zack exchanged "I do's" at Windwood Equestrian in Pelham, Alabama. This sweet couple had an exciting day to remember that mirrored their personalities. Their picture-perfect day was filled with fun props, colors, and a bridal party to match. Not to mention, Erin's stunning gown took everyone's breath away-not just Zack's! They danced the night away with food, friends, and family, and finished the night off with an Alabama themed groom's cake and shaker exit. Congratulations Erin and Zack! I can't believe it's been two years since Arden and William tied the knot! My photo of the week is a tribute/throwback to one of the most amazing weddings at Windwood Equestrian. It was so awesome that it even made the cover of Alabama Magazine! With a team of amazing vendors, this day was truly one to remember! We would like to take this moment say Happy Anniversary and we wish you many more years together!
The first look has always been one of my favorite photographs of the entire day. They're always a little unpredictable; I mean, some brides run into the arms of their groom, some grooms leap with excitement and then you have moments like this. These are the moments photographers live for- a groom so overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of his bride that he is literally brought to tears. This is my photo of the week for obvious reasons and for many more. Sarah and Jeremy are one of the sweetest couple's I've known. From the initial shoot during the engagement portraits, I absolutely fell in love with this couple. Sarah has the sweetest voice and I noticed how attentive Jeremy was throughout the day. So, I actually wasn't surprised by Jeremy's reaction to seeing Sarah for the first time because his response was also my response. You did it Sarah! You were so beautiful that you moved us all to tears! What a privilege to be apart of such an amazing day!
This past weekend, Meagan and Bly exchanged vows in Cullman, AL. After the wedding, the bridal party and guests continued the celebration at Windwood Equestrian. Meagan looked absolutely stunning in a custom Heidi Elnora gown. Hothouse Designs , M. Elizabeth Events and D'Armond Catering were some of the amazing vendor's who contributed to Megan and Bly's picture perfect day. The rain held off and we were able to shoot some of our favorite images in the field at Windwood. It was the perfect location for the perfect photo! Erin & Josh were wed on June 27th at Windwood Equestrian. The wedding was glazed with beautiful details, joyful smiles, and bright shades of pink. The ceremony took place in the barn and a beautiful arch covered in roses and jewels hung above. Guests enjoyed a beautiful reception full of savory food, lovely flower arrangements, and some sweet cake. A light rain drizzled during the reception, creating a memorable moment of dancing in the rain. Congratulations Erin & Josh! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
Jessica & Andrew "tied the knot" on June 6, 2015. The wedding festivities took place at Windwood Equestrian. The closeness between Jessica and her father was evident through his emotional first look and their sweet dance together. Unique touches were added to the wedding through the "ring security", a competitive bouquet toss, and a colorful glow stick exit! However, the best decoration to the wedding was the newlywed's joyful smiles. Congratulations to Jessica & Andrew on becoming the Shannons!
Adrienne & William were wed on June 6, 2015 at Windwood Equestrian. Adrienne enjoyed the morning with her bridal party as they all got ready for the big day. Pictures of Adrienne's grandparents were beautifully tied around her bouquet, allowing them to be a part of her sweet day. The ceremony was drizzled with golden light and the couple tied the knot in front of all their friends and family. We are so glad we got to be a part of your special day. On a sun-soaked day in May, Lacy & Katie tied the knot at Windwood Equestrian. Surrounded by her bridesmaids, in pretty pastels, Katie laughed and enjoyed the morning while she waited to greet her groom. Katie added a patriotic touch to the inside of her wedding dress by sewing in a small American Flag. Christopher Confero pieced together this wedding with beautiful design and unique touches. Between Lacy's fun cuff links, Katie's joyful laughter, and their exciting grand exit, the couple's wedding was bursting with personality. Congratulations Lacy & Katie! On a breezy summer day at Jemison Park, we celebrated Emily & Joey's engagement the best way we could, through pictures. Emily's flowy fuchsia dressed swayed while she walked mimicking the green leaves dancing in the trees. Joey's genuine smile while he gazed at his soon-to-be bride made us swoon. Hats off to this amazing couple for adding a little flare and a lot of personality during their engagement shoot. I spent the afternoon with Meagan and Bly at Old Overton Country Club last week. We started the session at the home of Bly's parents and we ended the session with a tour of one of the most beautiful golf coarse's in Alabama. The couple had recently returned from a trip to Hawaii and will be getting married this August. Meagan and Bly chose M. Elizabeth for their wedding planning and we're so excited to work with such an amazing team. This is one of the sweetest couples we've photographed and we're counting down the days until August 29th! The skies were certainly smiling on Katie and Chris's perfect day! The weather was picture perfect and so was our beautiful bride! Katie and Chris were married at Bluff Park United Methodist Church. Our family has known Katie for quite a while and it's always exciting when I have the opportunity to photograph a family event. After the ceremony, everyone gathered at Windwood Equestrian for the couple's reception. During the reception Katie and Chris delighted everyone when a Krispy Kreme donut display was revealed! After dancing, mingling and cutting the wedding cakes, a helicopter awaited the couple to send them off on their next destination. The week before Heidi and Joel's wedding could be described as a pre-lude to Noah's Arc. It was the most rain the area had received all year. But, something remarkable happened- the morning of the wedding the rain stopped and we realized that we were surrounded by the most beautiful and greenest grass I've ever seen. Could this be Ireland? No, it was Windwood Equestrian but for a moment it could have been mistaken for the twin sister of the country with plush meadows and vibrant woodlands! It was the perfect backdrop for the perfect couple! This was such an enchanting evening and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day; a day filled with plenty of laughter, a Crimson Tide video highlight and one of the most popular bands around-Act of Congress. It's always a pleasure photographing a wedding when you have personal connections to the couple. Well, there isn't anything more personal than photographing the wedding day of one of your cousins! What an amazing honor it was to shoot my cousin, Victoria's wedding. The intimate ceremony took place in the presence of family at Windwood Equestrian. Before the ceremony, we took advantage of our Equestrian surroundings by taking a few photos of Victoria with our beautiful white horses. It was such an ethereal moment! The bride, adorned with a rose-filled flower crown was simply radiant as she exchanged vows with her husband Kingsley. Congratulations Victoria and Kingsley! We're so excited for warm weather and blue skies! It's officially Spring and we couldn't think of a better way to start the new season than taking a stroll through our beautiful city on a picture perfect afternoon. I drive past Jemison Park everyday on my way to and from work. It's one of those places that you notice but you never really have time to stop and enjoy it. Sometimes, a nice stroll in the park is exactly what we need as a refresher for the week to come. It makes it even more enjoyable when you have the company of two amazing people. Sarah and Jeremy spent their afternoon with me among the rustling trees and flowing water of Jemison Park. It was a picture perfect day and I couldn't have asked for anyone better to spend it. Sarah and Jeremy will be married this July and we're so excited that we were chosen to share this special day with them. Congratulations Sarah and Jeremy! I'm so excited to share the photos of Jaimie and Brent's engagement session. Many of our couples have decided to take advantage of the beautiful evening backdrop of our wonderful city. We started the session at Railroad Park and continued to stop at a few of Birmingham's trendy areas. We were ultimately surprised that we chose the coldest night of the week for engagement photos, but this cute couple warmed our hearts with their sweet chatter and affection for one another.
