Mary Elizabeth & First Lieutenant Gregory Keith: Arden Photography
Harrison & Matt: Arden Photography
Harrison and Matt had a gorgeous wedding day, perfect conditions for some of my very favorite wedding photos. St. Mary's Church is architecturally divine, and the ivy crawling up the walls is reminiscent of Oxford. This didn't feel like a Birmingham wedding, but, rather, one fit for the royal family. Mariée Ami Wedding Planning Studio was the perfect choice for such an elegant affair. The reception was held at The Club with stunning Birmingham city views and an explosive display of fireworks resulting in dazzling images of the newlyweds. Such a rapturous event to be part of!
Brittney & Cory: Arden Photography
We were so excited for this wedding to finally arrive! We had such a great time with this little family at their engagement shoot and all the corresponding in between. It was a sweet ceremony, emotions abound, and a closeness with this family. And talk about a gorgeous dress! Congratulations Brittney and Cory!
Morgan & Patrick: Arden Photography
Morgan and Patrick walked hand in hand the entire time we shot their engagement portraits at Windwood Equestrian. They are another one of those couples who are just so happy in love and cannot wait to be married to one another - our favorite kind of course! Windwood has become quite the popular engagement shoot location, which is easy to understand - it is such a beautiful location with a multitude of different backdrops for your portraits! 2015 really is shaping up to be our favorite wedding season yet!
Borrowed and Blue Feature: Arden Photography
Recently, Borrowed and Blue asked for our opinion on our favorite location to shoot engagement portraits. Of course we said Windwood Equestrian! Check out the full article to see some exclusive Windwood engagement portraits, and other great local photo spots!
Tara & Eric: Arden Photography
Every bride dreams of getting married under sunny blue skies, fair conditions, with a warm breeze - but rarely does it work out so perfectly. Tara and Eric must be two lucky people because that is just what mother nature delivered for them! And when weather conditions are perfect, there really isn't anything to complain about. These two were incredibly laid-back, relaxed, and all about that "go-with-the-flow" mentality. Tara was a vision in her gown and veil, while her groom was dapper and composed. Smiles and laughs were plentiful with this group, and the celebration continued on late into the night! Windwood Equestrian was alight with soft candle flames and twinkling lights as the couple made their exit and said their farewells on their way to wedded bliss!
One bonus photo for this adorable flower girl and beautiful lens flare!
Rainy Weddings: Arden Photography
You did all your research on the weather for the date of your wedding. You checked forecast trends as far back as 25 years ago to see what the likelihood of precipitation chances are. Your thumbs got blisters from hitting refresh on your phone's weather app, and you sent up tiny prayers for a clear sunny day - but there it is. That first tiny raindrop just hit your cheek, and it might as well be a biblical flood as far as you're concerned. So what's a girl to do?
Dance in the rain!
Embrace it! A bride and groom huddled together under an umbrella makes for romantic intimate photo magic! Break out those galoshes, wellies, and rain boots (they're the same thing, but I love those words), grab a festive umbrella, layer a rain coat over your dress, and laugh about it! Because those photos are going to be better than you will have ever dreamt!
Here are a few favorite #tbt images (including photos from mine and William's semi-wet wedding) of rainy wedding days we adore! Tell me - would you cash in on that wedding insurance and reschedule your big day for a sunnier one? Do you think it's always a good idea to have a backup plan - somewhere to move the ceremony indoors, or rental tents just in case? Let me know!
Julie & Paul: Arden Photography
We loved shooting these engagement portraits out by Regions Field and Railroad Park! That Birmingham emblem blazing in the background makes for great photos! It seems so urban and modern and then you turn the corner and you have the lush green grass of Railroad Park - way to go Big Ham! Julie and Paul blended seamlessly into this landscape with their pet pup! This couple was so cute and affectionate - we can't wait to shoot their wedding in a few weeks!
Wedding Rings : Arden Photography
Some of our favorite wedding photos to shoot are the ring images. Probably has something to do with all the sparkly bling, right? There are so many interesting and unique details personal to each wedding, and we love to incorporate those into the shot. While the rings speak for themselves in beauty and value, it is often those small details that really make the image! Often times, the ring photo says everything about the wedding ceremony - classic, elegant, whimsical, rustic, charming - you can see that in the details!
Tell us what you think! Do you like the simplicity of the rings by themselves, with the bouquet or flowers, or showing off one of your favorite (and often overlooked) features of the day - like the shoes? Got any ideas for beautiful ring detail shots? Let us know!
We Love Our Clients: Arden Photography
We loved shooting Brittany and Cory's engagement photos back in August! Can't believe it's already October and they are getting married this Saturday! Looking forward to more fun times out of this cute family! More photos to come.
Vendor of the Week: Christoper Confero + a Sneak Peek of Kylee's Wedding! : Arden Photography
Christopher Confero was the vendor and event planner of this beautiful wedding. We love his work, we love working with him, we love him - in a totally normal, non-obsessive way, I promise…. Every wedding he plans is a dream, and we love photographing them! He was also the wedding planner for Arden and William's ceremony!
Can you tell we loved this wedding?? I mean come on, you know it is going to be awesome when you walk in to find a bunch of bridesmaids, hair in rollers, champagne flute in hand and cheering on their favorite football team! Kylee and Jay married beneath streamers blowing in the wind. Who doesn't love a groom in a bow tie and bridesmaids in mismatching dresses? We had such a great time capturing this wedding!
Cecil & Hobie Engagement: Arden Photography
Engagement portraits have become one of my favorite sessions to photograph. It gives the couple a practice session before the wedding day. You really get a opportunity to witness the couple's true personality. I had such an amazing time with Cecil and Hobie! They were so fun loving and full of energy. The session took place at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and we even got an opportunity to shoot on Morris Avenue. Here are a few of my favorite photos!

Catherine’s Beautiful Lela Rose dress came from Ivory ad White. The tasty cake came from Olexa’s. Flowers and Decor by KG Designs and the wedding planners from Mariee Ami handled all the details perfectly.
Warren & Laura: Arden Photography
The skies were blue and the sun couldn’t have been smiling brighter on Warren and Laura’s wedding day. The beautiful couple was married at Highlands United Methodist Church during a gorgeous evening ceremony. The reception was held at Swann Lake Stables, where some guests relaxed in the front porch rocking chairs, while others partied the night away. Congratulations Warren and Laura, we wish you a lifetime of happiness! Neillie of Mariee Ami did an amazing job as usual. All the details were perfect.
Sam & Kirn
Sam and Kirn were married at the beautiful Donnelly House. Gorgeous florals of yellow and green provided an enchanting atmosphere as the couple exchanged vows in the presence of family and friends. Congratulations to Sam and Kirn! May your days be filled with love and laughter!
David & Greer
Historic Rucker Place is one of my favorite venues. So, you can imagine my excitement when I learned that David and Greer had chosen this place for their wedding and reception. Greer’s elegance and southern charm was the perfect fit for the venue that displays the same characteristics. Guests witnesses a lovely ceremony followed by a reception filled with celebrating and dancing throughout the night. Congratulations David and Greer!
