Mo's Photo of the Week: Arden Photography

I love it when a bride is caught off guard and it creates a magical moment.  My photo of the week is from Sarah and Jordan's amazing wedding at Alys Beach.  Sarah was actually waiting on one of her bridesmaid's for a photo when someone said something that captured her attention.  The photos that captivate me the most, are the ones where you become lost in the actual image.  Even though her eyes are not directed towards me, there is a certain softness and innocence that  actually takes you back to that perfect Saturday; to that exact location at the exact moment.  I am in love with this photo!

Erin & Zack: Arden Photography

On a gorgeous Summer's day, Erin and Zack exchanged "I do's" at Windwood Equestrian in Pelham, Alabama. This sweet couple had an exciting day to remember that mirrored their personalities.  Their picture-perfect day was filled with fun props, colors, and a bridal party to match. Not to mention, Erin's stunning gown took everyone's breath away-not just Zack's! They danced the night away with food, friends, and family, and finished the night off with an Alabama themed groom's cake and shaker exit. Congratulations Erin and Zack! Thank you so much for sharing your day with us!

Mo's Photo of the Week: Happy Anniversary Arden & William

I can't believe it's been two years since Arden and William tied the knot!  My photo of the week is a tribute/throwback to one of the most amazing weddings at Windwood Equestrian.  It was so awesome that it even made the cover of Alabama Magazine!  With a team of amazing vendors, this day was truly one to remember! We would like to take this moment say Happy Anniversary and we wish you many more years together!

Mo's Photo of the Week: Arden Photography

This past weekend, Meagan and Bly  exchanged vows in Cullman, AL.  After the wedding, the bridal party and guests continued the celebration at Windwood Equestrian.  Meagan looked absolutely stunning in a custom Heidi Elnora gown.  Hothouse Designs , M. Elizabeth Events and D'Armond Catering were some of the amazing vendor's who contributed to Megan and Bly's picture perfect day.  The rain held off and we were able to shoot some of our favorite images in the field at Windwood.   It was the perfect location for the perfect photo!  We are so excited to share this sneak peek with you and please be sure to check the blog soon for more photos from this awesome wedding!  Congratulations to Bly for simply choosing the "most beautiful girl in the world"!

Bridal Bouquets 2015: Trends

While weaving together the details of your wedding, one of the hardest decisions can be about that one unforgettable touch: your bridal bouquet. It's the bundle of flowers you'll be holding as you swirl throughout all the events of your special day.  To help you gather inspiration, we've combed through all of the top wedding sites and have narrowed down on the best, blooming bridal bouquet trends of 2015.

The Farm-Fresh Look: This "fresh from the garden" and just-picked look is topping the charts as one of the hottest trends of 2015. Brides are beginning to chose a more rustic and artfully styled look for their flowers. With this trend, many brides are choosing to use locally-sourced, seasonal blooms in order to coincide with the style and support local farms. It's a win-win!

Keeping it Classy: White blooms with long, green stems will forever be in style. This elegant look can be filled out with a classic white rose and calla lillie combination, or you can add in peonies and hydrangeas for a bit more flare. The possibilities are endless, but the look remains timeless.

The Old-Fashioned: For the antique bride, vintage inspired flowers are a perfect fit. Fill up your bouquet with a mix of gorgeous dahlias and whimsical chrysanthemums, and you are sure to get "ohhs" and "ahhs" all night.

Bright & Bold: If you've got a personality with a little spunk or a style with a bit more flare, then amp up your bridal bouquet with more volume, length, and of course, color.

Lacey & Ben: Arden Photography

"I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes." ~e.e. cummings;  Lacey & Ben were married on a picture perfect January afternoon at Dawson Memorial Church.  I've been working with the sweet couple for a few months and I knew from the engagement session that this wedding was going to be amazing.  We were surrounded by beautiful florals and blue skies throughout the day. The couple said their vows in the presence of family and close friends and guests were treated to traditional southern food during the reception.  Congratulations Lacey and Ben!

Knotsvilla Feature: Arden Photography

We are so excited to be featured on Knotsvilla, and mainly because it is such a beautiful wedding to be featured. Darcy and Seth's intimate ceremony at the Sonnet House was filled with such delicate, romantic details and absolutely overflowing with vibrant flowers arrangements that just steal the show! Check out the link at Knotsvilla to see this dreamy ceremony, especially if you are looking for your own DIY ideas!

Jamie and Andrew were married during a beautiful evening ceremony at Windwood Equestrian.  I absolutely loved the colors and details of this wedding!  The day was picture perfect and the rain held off for the couple's amazing day!  Congrats Jamie and Andrew!  We're so excited for this new chapter in your lives!

Aaron & Todd: Arden Photography

Wedding season has officially peaked!  Arden Photography couldn't be more thrilled about the weddings that we've had the opportunity to photograph this summer.  Aaron and Todd's wedding was held at Windwood Equestrian and we couldn't wait to share some of our favorite images.  Aaron and Todd are such a beautiful couple and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together!

Preserving the big day...

Planning a wedding can seem like a lifetime, but when it comes to the actual big day...it is over in the blink of an eye; so it is without surprise that many bride's try to preserve everything from flowers to the wedding cake! But why just have some shriveled up flowers laying in a box somewhere in that closet you never even open when you can get creative and display what was once your wedding day bouquet.

I love this idea of making an ornament using the petals and stems from a bouquet!

Adding the cork from the bottle of champagne you toasted to that night would be such a great touch as well!!

My personal favorite is collaborating all the flowers into a framed piece that can be hung in the house all year around for everyone to see...I think this is just beautifully creative!

A Case of The Mondays

As I drove into work today I have to admit I had a case of the Mondays and this rainy cold weather that has consumed Birmingham was not helping. As I sipped on my hot apple cider I went through my morning routine here at the office. As I looked over the blog posts from last week I began day-dreaming of warmer weather, a full sun and brighter colors. The beautiful floral moment in the image of Georgie from last week’s feature in flower magazine compelled me to search for more beautiful floral moments. So here is my Monday contribution to helping you escape from the dreary weather outside your window and curing your case of the Mondays…

Abby Waller: Flower Magazine

Abby Waller, of flower magazine, is one of Arden Photography’s bride-to-be! We are so happy to see her featured in this edition of Flower. We can’t wait for her wedding day in just a few weeks. Be sure to read all about Abby’s wedding inspirations on flower magazine’s website. Georgie’s floral inspired photo shoot is something you will surely want to see thanks to Sybil Sylvester’s beautiful floral arrangement.

Brookwood Hospital: Arden Photography

Last week we had the privilege of photographing a wonderful event for Brookwood Hospital at The Club. The event was in honor of their amazing and dedicated employees. Christopher Confero did a wonderful job with the decor. The hues of blue and white provided the perfect backdrop for a great evening! We would like to thank the entire Brookwood Hospital organization for their service throughout the years!

Engaged Soho Bridal Show: Arden Photography

This weekend, Arden Photography had the opportunity to shoot the Engaged Soho Bridal Show. It was such a wonderful time and brides got a preview of their future wedding decor and venues. There were awesome door prizes, amazing food and plenty of brides whom squealed with excitement at the turn of every corner. Phoenix, the mini-horse from Windwood Equestrian made his bridal show debut! Here are a few of my favorite photos!

Robert Lamkin: Arden Photography

I had such a wonderful time photographing Robert last week at the Botanical Gardens. This “flower loving” toddler sure knows how to win a girl’s heart! We smelled the roses, admired the perennials, and crashed his dumped truck a few times! Robert’s expecting twin siblings in a few weeks, so we took this opportunity to have a “one on one” photoshoot! Here a a few of my favorites.
