Thank Heaven for Little Girls: Arden Photography

It's become a tradition with the Schilleci kids for me to photograph them every Veterans Day.  Elliot and JJ are two of my favorites subjects because we always find ourselves in a wide-open playground.  It's amazing to see how much the kids have changed over the past few years.  Elliot is a little more prim and proper; signs that this little girl is slowly growing up.  It's almost bitter sweet but for now we have to cherish the sweet giggles and bright eyes.  Before long, I will probably receive a phone call to photograph their weddings!  Here are a few of my favorite photos of Elliot.

Morgan & Patrick: Arden Photography

It's not very often that we have the opportunity to photograph a wedding where we get to see our really good friends!  I was so excited to spend the day with my friends from The Sonnet House and to shoot another amazing wedding there! Morgan and Patrick are probably one of the sweetest couples I've ever met.  They wrote love letters to each other and decided to read them under the oak tree, which is one of my favorite places on the property.  Morgan was absolutely beautiful in lace and pearls as she walked down the aisle to exchange vows with Patrick.  After the ceremony, the couple cut into the an awesome cake that page homage to both Notre Dame and Alabama.  I was  so thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful day and I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Friday afternoon! Congratulations Morgan and Patrick!

Brooke & James: Arden Photography

Brooke and James said "I do" beneath blue skies in early June. They wed on the porch of the Sonnet House, with classic charm abound. Daisies decorated the table tops in mason jars - a perfect Southern touch; while pearls, lace, and sprigs of baby's breath decorated the bride. Soon after the ceremony, the wedding dances began. The bridesmaids kicked off their shoes and everyone threw their arms in the air! Laughter, love, and fun filled the night  - we could not help but be infected ourselves. They made their exit in a white limousine flanked by their friends and family wishing them all the happiness in the world!

A Clever and Romantic Proposal: Sarah & Ben

Sarah & Ben

During the summer of 2009 Sarah had just started working at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville, Al. Ben owned a golf cart business at the time and was frequently at Valley Hill for business and of coarse to indulge in his love for golf. In May of 2009 Sarah and Ben met at the end of a golf tournament hosted by Valley Hill. The two began seeing each other often and were dating by that June.

Ben proposed to Sarah on Friday, April 26, 2013. He chose to propose to Sarah somewhere that he and Sarah could always remember. Sarah was in Baton Rouge, LA, Ben’s hometown, for the weekend attending a friends wedding and to move some of her stuff as she was about to move down to Louisiana. Ben had a friend call Sarah during lunch to let her know about a potential job opportunity that would require her to go to an interview that afternoon at the LA State Capitol. Ben later drove Sarah to the State Capitol and took her up to the 27th floor to look out on the observation deck. As Sarah was under the impression she was there for an interview she quickly decided to head back inside. Ben called out her name and when Sarah turned around Ben was down on one knee holding a ring in his hand. In Sarah’s words, it was a magical moment! (Just in case you didn’t pick up on the ruse…there was no interview that day.)

Sarah has really enjoyed planning her wedding. Sarah and Ben are to be married this weekend in Huntsville, Al however they live in Lafayette, LA. Sarah says her mother has had to step in and meet with most vendors when she can’t make it. She is so thankful for her mother and all that she has done to make her wedding day special!!

Mo's Photo of the Week: Arden Photography

I absolutely love head shots! It allows me to have some serious one on one time with the client and it shows the personality that some rarely get an opportunity to see. Generally our clients enter as shy individuals whom have dreaded this day since the scheduling of the session. It’s something about the phrase “having your picture taken” that often freaks out the most confident people on the planet. I believe that every single person has the ability to take an amazing photo! All it takes is the right photographer and for some… a little runway music in the background. My favorite photo this week consists of two ordinary people who didn’t realize how much fun head shots could really be. David is now considering a career in front of the camera and Kerri will be featured in a magazine soon! So, what are you waiting for? Schedule your session today at Arden Photography, where models are born!

Meredith & Matthew

Meredith and Matthew were married at the Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Al. After the ceremony the couple headed down Paul Bryant Drive, just like true Alabama fans, and continued the celebration at Cypress Inn Pavilion with family and friends. Congratulations Meredith and Matthew!

Deborah & John

Deborah and John were married at Windwood Equestrian on a beautiful May morning. The sun was out and the horses were ready to greet guests as well as the beautiful couple. After the ceremony family and friends celebrated with Deborah and John and then sent them off by blowing bubbles as the newly weds drove away! Congratulations Deborah and John!
