Two are better than one: Arden Photography

Maybe it's something in the water but recently twins have been popping up everywhere!  It seems like everyday I learn about a new person who is expecting two bundles of joy.  We were so excited to photograph Caroline's baby twins for their first birthday.  I can't even image the amount of mischief these two are about to cause in the near future.  I know that this household will be filled with plenty of laughter and some adventurous days! It's always shocking to see the different personalities of twins, even at a very early age.  We can't wait to see these two grow up to become spirited toddlers.  Before you know it, we'll be photographing double dates!

Return of the Jedi: Arden Photography

It's no secret that we're days away from the biggest movie of the year.  I've always been a huge Star Wars fan, so you can imagine my excited when I found out I would be photographing Ewoks! JJ and Elliot surprise me every year with a different costume for our shoot.  I must say, this is the most fun I've had since I was a child.  I honestly didn't mind the fact that everyone stopped and gawked at the grown woman having a sword fight with sticks.  After all, as the photographer, I had to embody some of the Ewok's character.  This shoot literally made me count down the days until I'm running to a theater for a matinee and popcorn!  I hope you love these photos as much I enjoyed photographing these two adorable kids, I meant Ewoks.  Here are a few of my favorites!

Thank Heaven for Little Girls: Arden Photography

It's become a tradition with the Schilleci kids for me to photograph them every Veterans Day.  Elliot and JJ are two of my favorites subjects because we always find ourselves in a wide-open playground.  It's amazing to see how much the kids have changed over the past few years.  Elliot is a little more prim and proper; signs that this little girl is slowly growing up.  It's almost bitter sweet but for now we have to cherish the sweet giggles and bright eyes.  Before long, I will probably receive a phone call to photograph their weddings!  Here are a few of my favorite photos of Elliot.

Happy Birthday Bella!

I couldn't think of a better way to spend your first birthday than a photo shoot in the gardens!  Bella is officially a one year old and she's ready for her close-up. With a face as sweet as her's, who wouldn't be? We had such a great time last week running around with this vivacious and energized little angel.  Of course, there were a few melt-downs here and there but before the session was over, Bella and I were the best of friends. Pretty in pink with a hair bow to match, this cutie was definitely dressed to impressed.  I can't wait until next year's session but in the meantime take a look at some of our favorite photos.  Happy Birthday Bella!

Kervin-Party of Four! Arden Photography

Yesterday I headed down 65 South to Auburn to photograph the newest addition to the Kervin family.  I met Jamie and Brian a little over two years ago when they booked me for their wedding.  Brian is pilot and they chose to have their engagement portraits taken at the airport in Auburn.  A few months later, I was headed back to Auburn for their wedding and now for their newborn session.  It was such an amazing experience to photograph their bundle of joy, Oliver.  The day consisted of a few wardrobe changes, diaper changes and high-pitched vocals.   Parker, the family dog, even made a few appearances.  Congratulations to Jamie and Brian!  I've enjoyed documenting your love story from the very beginning and thank you for allowing us to be apart of your "Baby Story".

Man Crush EVERYDAY! Charming Charlie

Meet Charlie. He's cute as a button, he'll charm your socks off and he definitely knows how to work a camera!  I can't think of a better way to start off the new school year than a fresh new photo shoot and traffic stopping attire.  Oh yea, let's not forget that signature "let me lower my sunglasses just enough for me to captivate you with my eyes" pose.  So, if you ever see him on the street, at your local gym or maybe a nearby candy store, be sure to say hi to Charlie, "Charming" Charlie!

Daddy's Girl: Arden Photography

I spent the afternoon with the Krogsgard family photographing their precious baby girl, Anna.  Sometimes I get this weird sense that babies actually know that I'm coming to take their portraits.  In the beginning, Anna didn't seem too thrilled to see me but thankfully daddy came to the rescue!  He was really the Superman of the day!  He swaddled Anna, he cuddled Anna, he rocked Anna, he fed Anna… I really could go on and on.  It's always such an awakening experience to see such nurturing and enduring moments between fathers and daughters.  I guess it's more of a preface of things to come.  Amazing people become amazing parents and Anna is one blessed child to have the love of two wonderful human beings.

Fairy Tales: Arden Photography

I remember growing up, our parents instilled in us that we could be anyone we wanted to be:  a doctor, a teacher, a photographer or even Snow White.  I remember when dressing up like your favorite character seemed to be a normal part of your daily childhood syllabus.  Whether it was Halloween or a regular trip to the grocery store, no one seemed to care that someone's child was in a full Superman or Cinderella attire!  It's really refreshing to see that some things haven't changed. In a world filled with the latest gadgets and video games, it's nice to know that the power of imagination still reigns supreme!

Spencer Kids: Arden Photography

How stinking adorable are these faces?! Capturing kids in their natural element - whether it is at home, at the ball field, or the playground - it's easiest to snap real smiles when they're comfortable and "at home." And the cool thing about this shoot was that we did take these shots at their home. They wanted to show me a little bit of everything they love doing, and I was amazed at how well they got along together, being siblings and all! Cute kids alert for sure!

Michael L. Kimble II: Arden Photography

Michael is back! And this year, his portrait theme is "hip hop." Every time we are around this cutie, we can't stop smiling and laughing. Michael exudes so much self-confidence, and absolute smoothness, that we dare anyone not to smile just by looking at these photos. He has an energy we can't get enough of, and we look forward to shooting his self-chosen themed portraits every year! Take a look back at previous years and you can see for yourself what I mean!

Family Portraits: Arden Photography

Family portraits are some of our favorite shoots to do! We love getting to know the family and watching the kids grow up over time as we often photograph the family more than once. We met Melissa at the Botanical Gardens with her two adorable children - I mean look at that red hair! Like mother, like daughter, right?

Fall comes and goes so quickly around here! Be sure to book your fall family portraits now!

Baby Jack: Arden Photography

Mister Jack here was quite the bundle of energy. We snapped his baby portraits at Windwood Farm, though it was less like a photo session and far more of a play-date! He looked the perfect J-Crew model as he posed in his fedora hat and chased around Edgar, the barn cat. Foreshadowing his future on the LSU football team, he played every bit the part of the tough quarterback!

Arden Photography: Baby Portraits

We shot Katie's wedding day over two years ago. She and her husband have been living happily ever after when they were blessed with baby Paul. The day after he turned nine months old, Paul and Katie came to the studio for portraits. We strolled over to green grass where Paul plopped down and proceeded to give us lots of toothy grins, a few prestigious smirks, and quite a few laughs of our own! We photographed his cousin William just a few weeks ago, be sure to check out those images as well!

From Leisure Suits to Fedora Hats: Arden Photography

Michael Kimble has a smile that will make you weak in the knees. He was such a joy to work with during his photo shoot. Every time we look back at this shoot the Arden Photography team cannot help but smile. Along with Michael’s amazing wardrobe choices, he has a personality that can brighten anyones day. We are so thankful for the time spent with Michael and his mother, Sandy. We can’t wait to work with you again Michael!

Heather & Lily: Arden Photography

Arden Photography adores photographing children, so it was a great pleasure to have the opportunity to photograph little Lily. Lily is the daughter of Heather, a dear friend of Arden’s. Her baby blues and natural smile made it a breeze to capture amazing portraits of her and her mother. It is clear that she is a natural in front of the camera! We can not wait to watch Lily grow up and to catch many more memories with her and Heather!
