Nolen's Adventure: Arden Photography

What an exciting time to be a toddler!  I had such a great day with Nolen frolicking around the gardens and taking a few photos here and there.  Nolen came prepared with his mother and grandmother for a full day of photography adventure.   It took him a minute to warm up to me by the end of the session, we were definitely best friends.  This shy but adventurous toddler really knows how to work the camera! His killer smile and gorgeous eyes really made my job that much easier.  I can't wait until next year's session and thank you Nolen for showing this girl how to really have an amazing day of fun.  Here are a few of my favorite photos from the session.  I hope you love them as much as we do!

Happy Birthday Bella!

I couldn't think of a better way to spend your first birthday than a photo shoot in the gardens!  Bella is officially a one year old and she's ready for her close-up. With a face as sweet as her's, who wouldn't be? We had such a great time last week running around with this vivacious and energized little angel.  Of course, there were a few melt-downs here and there but before the session was over, Bella and I were the best of friends. Pretty in pink with a hair bow to match, this cutie was definitely dressed to impressed.  I can't wait until next year's session but in the meantime take a look at some of our favorite photos.  Happy Birthday Bella!

Fairy Tales: Arden Photography

I remember growing up, our parents instilled in us that we could be anyone we wanted to be:  a doctor, a teacher, a photographer or even Snow White.  I remember when dressing up like your favorite character seemed to be a normal part of your daily childhood syllabus.  Whether it was Halloween or a regular trip to the grocery store, no one seemed to care that someone's child was in a full Superman or Cinderella attire!  It's really refreshing to see that some things haven't changed. In a world filled with the latest gadgets and video games, it's nice to know that the power of imagination still reigns supreme!

Vendor Spotlight: Kathy G & Co.

Kathy G & Co.  is experienced and well known throughout the catering and design industry. She exceeds her clients expectations and creates for them a one-of-a-kind event and food design that the bride could not have even dreamed of.

A recent client of her's gushes, "Every dish was absolutely authentic & top-notch - our guests are still raving about the food! - the service was impeccable, & the presentation was stunning. Everyone knows that Kathy G is the queen of catering in Alabama, but with this event I truly believe that you out-did even yourself."

Kathy recommends to newly engaged brides a few tips to get them through the planning process of the wedding:

Tip #1: The first thing any Bride should do would be to secure your date for your Ceremony &  Reception Venue. Everything else will follow.

Tip #2: Get Organized.  It is so helpful when a Bride comes in to a meeting already having an idea of what she wants. Having a binder or photos of weddings, bouquets and menus gives us a great start to create her vision.

Family Portraits: Arden Photography

Family portraits are some of our favorite shoots to do! We love getting to know the family and watching the kids grow up over time as we often photograph the family more than once. We met Melissa at the Botanical Gardens with her two adorable children - I mean look at that red hair! Like mother, like daughter, right?

Fall comes and goes so quickly around here! Be sure to book your fall family portraits now!

Charlotte & John Michael: Arden Photography

Charlotte & John Michael will be married at the Advent in December. After a weekend of pre-wedding activities including an amazing engagement party, the couple met me at the Botanical Gardens for their engagement portraits. We had such a great time laughing, joking and shooting a few pictures here and there. Congratulations Charlotte & John Michael! December is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited for you!

Robert Lamkin: Arden Photography

I had such a wonderful time photographing Robert last week at the Botanical Gardens. This “flower loving” toddler sure knows how to win a girl’s heart! We smelled the roses, admired the perennials, and crashed his dumped truck a few times! Robert’s expecting twin siblings in a few weeks, so we took this opportunity to have a “one on one” photoshoot! Here a a few of my favorites.
