Who likes a stroll in the park on a Sunday afternoon? I do! It's always fun when leisurely time turns into a photoshoot! It was just an ordinary walk in the park and some photos in between. We're so excited about Hannah and Jared's Windwood Fall wedding! We met the couple back in February and they're just as adorable today as they were then. We spent the afternoon downtown among some popular Birmingham attractions: I've always loved this city and it seems like every week, there's a new space waiting to be photographed. Hannah and Jared's photos are absolutely stunning, but who could expect less from a stunning couple? We're counting down the days until November 19th!
Meet our Contest Winners! Arden Photography
Arden Photography held a contest during Valentine's week to celebrate the season of love! We asked our fellow Instagram and Facebook followers to nominate a deserving couple for a free photo session. Congratulations to Jess & Brad! The couple was nominated by their friend Mallory, who spoke some amazingly kind words about them. It was such a sweet story and we couldn't help but to choose them as one of our contest winners. Arden Photography was front and center for their sunset photo session. We hit a few of Birmingham's popular attractions and the photos look amazing. Congrats again to this awesome couple and for more photos from this session, be sure to click the link below!

Look Who's Going to the Chapel! Arden Photography
Dylan popped the question, and now Aimee is a beautiful bride-to-be! The happy couple made it official on a perfect autumn day, and we had so much fun capturing the moment. Aimee was serenaded by musicians as she followed a trail of love notes left by Dylan, until she found him, ready and waiting, on one knee! It was such a special day for the happy couple. It is obvious that the two are head over heels for each other! We wish Dylan and Aimee all the best as they prepare for their upcoming wedding and their future lives together.
Meagan & Bly: Arden Photography
Hats off to this amazing couple for adding a little flare and a lot of personality during their engagement shoot. I spent the afternoon with Meagan and Bly at Old Overton Country Club last week. We started the session at the home of Bly's parents and we ended the session with a tour of one of the most beautiful golf coarse's in Alabama. The couple had recently returned from a trip to Hawaii and will be getting married this August. Meagan and Bly chose M. Elizabeth for their wedding planning and we're so excited to work with such an amazing team. This is one of the sweetest couples we've photographed and we're counting down the days until August 29th! Congratulations Meagan and Bly!
Jaimie & Brent: Arden Photography
I'm so excited to share the photos of Jaimie and Brent's engagement session. Many of our couples have decided to take advantage of the beautiful evening backdrop of our wonderful city. We started the session at Railroad Park and continued to stop at a few of Birmingham's trendy areas. We were ultimately surprised that we chose the coldest night of the week for engagement photos, but this cute couple warmed our hearts with their sweet chatter and affection for one another. Jaimie and Brent will be married at Windwood Equestrian this year and we're so happy to share this special day with them. Here are a few of our favorite photos and we're counting down the days until their amazing wedding!
Adrienne & William Engagement: Arden Photography
The city of Birmingham has often been described as a diamond in the rough. From it's historical landmarks, amazing restaurants and southern hospitality; it's one of those places that will never rid itself of the charm and appeal that keeps people coming back. I love it when our couples use the city as a backdrop for their engagement photos. Adrienne and William will be married this summer and we were so excited to spend the afternoon with them on Morris Avenue. This street, aligned with it's brick roads, is a favorite of visitors and residents of the city. We had such an amazing day with Adrienne and William and we couldn't be more pleased with their photos. Here are a few of our favorites!
Laura & Brooks Engagement: Arden Photography
Southern winters are characterized by rain, fog, and long nights. As photographers, this is not such a bad thing. Clearly exemplified by these absolutely beautiful and intimate engagement portraits we shot in Selma, Alabama. This is their family property which is obviously a wonderful setting for photos, but what make these favorites is the soft, quiet romance so visible between these two - aren't you just daydreaming of cuddling up on a rainy Sunday, coffee in hand, bundled up in a blanket with lake views now? Who better for this stylish couple to be represented by than Mariée Ami Wedding Planning? Maybe rainy winter days aren't the absolute worst after all?
Kaitlyn & Johnny : Arden Photography
We are so looking forward to this sweet couple's 2015 Windwood wedding. An October fall wedding, actually, which aligned perfectly with these beautiful fall engagement portraits! We can already tell that it will be a beautiful ceremony, with a very beautiful bride!
Stephanie & Eric: Arden Photography
You will be seeing more of this adorable couple soon, as they are one of the THREE (!) weddings we are shooting tomorrow! Very excited to be part of this big day for Stephanie and Eric
Barrow & Michael: Arden Photography
Night-time in downtown Birmingham means you've never seen a city more brilliantly lit up. Bridges, ballparks, fountains all bright with vibrant splashes of colors and cobbled streets glowing with soft lamps. Barrow and Michael simply trusted us when we planned for them a night-time engagement session in downtown Birmingham, promising them a beautiful array of bright, colorful, and romantic images. I don't think we disappointed. I am so in love with these city images: the light-installment bridges with so many colors filling the scene turning it into a wonderland of sorts, the city-proud Birmingham sign in the background leaves no room for question, and especially the black and white images that feel so soft and romantic. There is nothing better than a couple that just trusts your creative intuition, and Barrow and Michael did not fail! If this is any indication of what their wedding will be like, we could not be more excited!
Morgan & Patrick: Arden Photography
Morgan and Patrick walked hand in hand the entire time we shot their engagement portraits at Windwood Equestrian. They are another one of those couples who are just so happy in love and cannot wait to be married to one another - our favorite kind of course! Windwood has become quite the popular engagement shoot location, which is easy to understand - it is such a beautiful location with a multitude of different backdrops for your portraits! 2015 really is shaping up to be our favorite wedding season yet!
Can't Wait for Katie's Big Day: Arden Photography
A late fall afternoon at Windwood Equestrian makes for gorgeous images! Especially when you've got such good-looking subjects to photograph! Katie is one of our 2015 brides, and it is shots like these that are making us so excited for the new year to come! 2015 is just around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited for this couple's big day!
Erin & Josh: Arden Photography
Erin and Josh aren't tying the knot until June, 2015. But as you can tell, they are incredibly excited to spend the rest of their lives together! Newly engaged couples are so easy to photograph - they are practically glowing and so sweet on each other, this couple specifically though. It might have something to do with the fact that Josh had been away in the military and now Erin is finishing school in Memphis. No wonder they couldn't let go of each other! Now we are already looking forward to next summer's weddings! Congratulations you two!
Julie & Paul: Arden Photography
We loved shooting these engagement portraits out by Regions Field and Railroad Park! That Birmingham emblem blazing in the background makes for great photos! It seems so urban and modern and then you turn the corner and you have the lush green grass of Railroad Park - way to go Big Ham! Julie and Paul blended seamlessly into this landscape with their pet pup! This couple was so cute and affectionate - we can't wait to shoot their wedding in a few weeks!
We Love Our Clients: Arden Photography
We loved shooting Brittany and Cory's engagement photos back in August! Can't believe it's already October and they are getting married this Saturday! Looking forward to more fun times out of this cute family! More photos to come.
Lacey & Ben Engagement Portraits: Arden Photography
As far as engagements go, I've never heard a story of how the question was popped that went according to the plan. Something always happens that puts a kink in the whole design. In Ben and Lacey's engagement story it was the weather, of course! Ben had originally planned to propose to Lacey at Railroad Park, but his schemes were thwarted - and he would have gotten away with it had it not been for that pesky Alabama weather! So to commemorate that effort, we headed to Railroad and Vulcan Park to snap their engagement photos - no bad weather in sight!
Brittney & Cory Engagement: Arden Photography
Brittney and Cory came ready for their engagement photos exuding that "Sweet Home Alabama" quality. Decked out in cowboy boots and American colors, she was the epitome of Southern Belle, and he, the proud example of "good ole boy." Her daughter came with us, and gave us a never-ending supply of sassiness and humor, and kept everyone laughing throughout the shoot! We explored Railroad Park and Morris Avenue seeking out trains and tracks - all aboard the love train!
Cecil & Hobie Engagement: Arden Photography
Engagement portraits have become one of my favorite sessions to photograph. It gives the couple a practice session before the wedding day. You really get a opportunity to witness the couple's true personality. I had such an amazing time with Cecil and Hobie! They were so fun loving and full of energy. The session took place at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and we even got an opportunity to shoot on Morris Avenue. Here are a few of my favorite photos!
Liza & Freddy
Laughter is one of the most important ingredients in a healthy relationship and that is what this entire engagement sessions was full of; laughter. Liza and Freddy's love for each other is not only apparent in photographs but in person as well and that is why Arden Photography is counting down the days until Liza and Freddy's August wedding at Windwood Equestrian!
Rachelle & Garrett
Rachelle and Garrett are truly two of the kindest people Arden Photography has had the pleasure to photograph. The entire time spent with the two was full of love and compassion. We can not wait for May 31st when Rachelle and Garrett will be married at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, AL.
