There are some weddings that rainy days just can not dampen, and this was one of them! The rain stopped just in time for Hollace and J.R.'s ceremony at the school barn, and it could not have been more perfect. We loved getting to know this couple throughout our time with them! Hollace and J.R.'s beautiful day was full of all the gorgeous details thanks to Hothouse Design Studio! We love a day full of pastels and lanterns, and that is just what Hollace and J.R.'s day was! Thanks to our friends at HotHouse Design Studio, Windwood was looking even more beautiful with all of the beautiful centerpieces and decor! Kathy G. Catering never disappoints, of course, and the guests could not stop raving! Hollace and J.R., thank you for allowing us to be apart of such a special day, we wish you all the best!
Frannie and Josh: Arden Photography
We knew Frannie and Josh would be a special couple when Josh said he was from Ireland! They were married at Windwood on a beautiful spring day in March. Their choice not the have a "first look", but instead to exchange notes before the ceremony made the day extra special and intimate. They made the day so easy with their lighthearted humor and laughter. We always look forward to tasting the cake, and Magic Muffins did not disappoint! We loved being apart of their day, and we wish you the best, Frannie and Josh!

Erin & Josh: Arden Photography
Erin & Josh were wed on June 27th at Windwood Equestrian. The wedding was glazed with beautiful details, joyful smiles, and bright shades of pink. The ceremony took place in the barn and a beautiful arch covered in roses and jewels hung above. Guests enjoyed a beautiful reception full of savory food, lovely flower arrangements, and some sweet cake. A light rain drizzled during the reception, creating a memorable moment of dancing in the rain. Congratulations Erin & Josh! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
Morgan & Justice: Arden Photography
On June 13, 2015, Morgan & Justice were wed in Tuscaloosa, AL at Calvary Baptist Church. Morgan looked radiant in an elegant white dress that was beautifully paired with a gorgeous, long veil. Following the ceremony, guests headed over to The University Club for a classic wedding reception. Surrounded by their friends and family, Morgan & Justice celebrated the day by dancing the night away. Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple!
Lacy & Katie: Arden Photography
On a sun-soaked day in May, Lacy & Katie tied the knot at Windwood Equestrian. Surrounded by her bridesmaids, in pretty pastels, Katie laughed and enjoyed the morning while she waited to greet her groom. Katie added a patriotic touch to the inside of her wedding dress by sewing in a small American Flag. Christopher Confero pieced together this wedding with beautiful design and unique touches. Between Lacy's fun cuff links, Katie's joyful laughter, and their exciting grand exit, the couple's wedding was bursting with personality. Congratulations Lacy & Katie! We hope you are soaking up and loving this season of being newlyweds.

What you need to know about Wedding Cakes 2015: Trends
While pulling together the details of your wedding, you can't forget about the last sweet touch… the wedding cake. Between the creamy icing and the flavorful cake, it's sure to bring smiles to all of your guests. Narrowing in on inspiration can be a little overwhelming. So, we've pulled together a few trends for 2015 (with a little help from The Knot) to help you!
Naked: A naked cake is perfect for any summertime wedding. Just adorn it with some fresh flowers and get ready to surprise your guests with a new take on the "icing on the cake".
Buttercream: This smooth and rich icing delivers simplicity to any wedding cake. The thickness of the icing allows for textured design, making it perfect for any wedding with a rustic vibe.
White on White: The classic white wedding cake has always been in style; however, 2015 is imagining new ways to recreate this cake. Simple embellishments along the sides and uniquely shaped tiers are proving to be the new way to display "white on white" style.
Ruffled: Giving off a "light and airy" feel, this elegant trend is perfect for any type of wedding. If your looking for a pop of color, think about showering the cake with dainty flowers or add a funky topper.
Woodland: This ethereal theme gives a fairytale-feel to any outdoors reception. You can even carry on the theme by showcasing the cake on a wooden stand and surrounding it in a halo of branches.
Monogrammed: We know that everyone in the south loves a good monogram, but 2015 greets this style with a fresh take. Why not showcase your new last name by highlighting it in your cake? We love the idea of showcasing your monogram with bright colors and fresh designs.

Such a fun wedding to shoot! Rustic and charming details adorned this ceremony from the pine branches gracing the wedding aisle to the orange daisies and apple crates. Karen was breath-taking as the veil whipped about her in the wind, and you could see how proud Michael was to call her his!
Julie & Paul: Arden Photography
Julie and Paul was one of the sweetest couples we had the privilege of meeting and photographing with this year. Their wedding had just the right amount of small sweet details like the jam and marmalade bar. They said their vows on the patio at Windwood Equestrian with a floral splay of color on the fireplace mantle. Then they made their exit in a grand fashion aboard a helicopter, charting them off to their new life together!

Sometimes the smallest and most private weddings can be the most beautiful. There's something about being asked into a family's home to photograph a love story, especially at Christmas, that really puts into perspective our love of this art form. We aren't entirely ready to let the holidays go just yet, but who could blame us with such festive photos like these!

A Look Back at 2014: Arden Photography
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
2014 was a big, big year for Arden Photography; so many exciting things, beautiful weddings, the Equus collection. It was filled over with such gorgeous imagery, smiling couples, close friends, and new chapters that we are beyond excited for the new beginnings in 2015. We are so very lucky to have such a wonderful and embracing community and many friendships. We hope you are as ecstatic about 2015 as we are! We cannot wait to take you along for the ride next to us, and to allow us to capture all of your beautiful memories and stories for 2015! In the meantime, here is a look-back at a few of our personal favorite images from 2014.
Harrison & Matt: Arden Photography
Harrison and Matt had a gorgeous wedding day, perfect conditions for some of my very favorite wedding photos. St. Mary's Church is architecturally divine, and the ivy crawling up the walls is reminiscent of Oxford. This didn't feel like a Birmingham wedding, but, rather, one fit for the royal family. Mariée Ami Wedding Planning Studio was the perfect choice for such an elegant affair. The reception was held at The Club with stunning Birmingham city views and an explosive display of fireworks resulting in dazzling images of the newlyweds. Such a rapturous event to be part of!
Brittney & Cory: Arden Photography
We were so excited for this wedding to finally arrive! We had such a great time with this little family at their engagement shoot and all the corresponding in between. It was a sweet ceremony, emotions abound, and a closeness with this family. And talk about a gorgeous dress! Congratulations Brittney and Cory!
Violet & Ken: Arden Photography
Violet and Ken's wedding day was the epitome of glitz and glamour. The majestic Christopher Confero of Christopher Confero Design created a stunning scene of romance and sparkling whimsy. The couple was alight with happiness as they exchanged longing looks of love throughout the day. This was the party event of the year with The Atlanta Allstars performing, drinks pouring, and guests dancing all night long.
